Sunflower Scotland delivered gifts to 186 orphan children in the Kharkiv region, including headphones and USB charging hubs, to help them with distance learning.
In Ukraine children attend school online for a few days each week, because of the air raids and missile attacks. 27 fostering families in the Kharkiv region live in small flats, and children share rooms with three, four or five siblings. Children need headphones to study. They also need to charge their laptops and tablets.
We gifted each child a set of headphones and a USB-C cable. In addition, we provided two USB charging hubs to each family, so that children could charge their devices. Since it’s Christmas time, we’ve added 200 grams of high-quality chocolate candies into each bag. Children love sweets, and we want to lift their spirits in this hard time.
Sunflower’s volunteers Vitalyi Grigorov amd Oleksii prepared the gift bags and drove to Krasnokuts’k to meet with the 27 fostering families and deliver our Christmas gift sets.
We purchased Ukraine-made chocolates and the electronic items locally, in Ukraine (because we believe that to help Ukraine we must buy Ukrainian).
