On 26th December, we organised a Christmas performance for 150 kids with disabilities and from deprived families, in Kryvyi Rih (Wikipedia: Kryvyi Rih), south Ukraine. It is heartbreaking to see children, the innocent victims of russia’s aggressive war.
Sunflower Scotland and our Ukrainian partner Shira Sprava (Facebook page: Щира Справа) decided to give children a bit of joy and happiness, to help them forget the war for several hours. Talented Ukrainian actors performed a brilliant costume show, with dancing, singing. Children were really excited and happy.
At the end of the show, children rushed to take pictures with actors, take memories of this day with them – and of course share photos with their friends on social media 🙂
After the show, each child received a big box of chocolates (800 grams each, cost 209 hryvnia per box). These are Ukraine-made chocolates, Sunflower purchased them locally (see an invoice below) because we trust in supporting Ukraine’s economy and jobs (see our thorough research on why buying aid locally in Ukraine is a good thing). And also, because Ukraine makes really delicious chocolates!
You can see that we support real people in Ukraine. If you agree with what we do, please donate. We don’t pay ourselves, and all the money raised goes to the good cause. We can help Ukraine only thanks to people like you.
