On the 22nd November, Sunflower Scotland delivered medical supplies to doctors in the Kharkiv Regional Trauma Hospital.
Located in Saltyvka – possibly the most badly bombed district of Kharkiv – the Regional Trauma Hospital helps people from the whole region. It provides care to patients from the city of Kharkiv, as well as from all towns and villages of this war-torn region. That’s why we felt it would be a good idea to support them.
The St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh collected many sets of medical uniforms and various medical supplies. People from all over Scotland donated their wheelchairs, crutches and essential medical items. We’re eternally grateful for their support and donations!
Elvira Dmitrieva, our trustee and treasurer, loaded all the medical aid into a jeep, and drove it all the way from Edinburgh to Ukraine. Yes, trustees at Sunflower Scotland are hands on: we don’t only fundraise and do administration, we roll up our sleeves and deliver aid.
Our volunteer Vitaliy Hryhorov met with doctors and nurses, and gave our aid directly to them. It is important for us to know that our aid always reaches the persons who need it.
