11 February 2025 – Sunflower Scotland and Spiders 4 Ukraine worked together to fundraise and deliver two vehicles to the brave defenders of Ukraine: 151st battalion, 117th brigade TRO.
The 151st battalion suffered very heavy casualties defending the Kharkiv region. Yet they held their ground and fulfilled the orders. Unfortunately, many live were lost, and vehicles were destroyed by the invaders’ kamikaze drones.
Vehicles save lives at the front line. They evacuate the wounded. Every day, 4×4 cars bringing boys from the trenches to safety: walking on the battlefield is a death sentence.
When we learned about the hard situation and the losses, we wasted no time. The two teams – Sunflower Scotland and Spiders 4 Ukraine – acted together to fundraise, and source two off-road cars.
Together, Sunflower Scotland and Spiders 4 Ukraine promote Ukrainian icons painted on ammunition boxes. All the profit from the sale of one of the icons, together with the other funds we had, was enough to deliver two vehicles to the front.
Sunflower purchased one of the two vehicles. The second car – a Honda CR-V – was donated by a wonderful British person. With the help of our good partner Lochrin Autos, Sunflower Scotland serviced the vehicles, fitted chunky winter tyres, and prepared them for long journey of 2500 miles.
Ultimately, the Sunflower team delivered them to the Kharkiv front.
In addition, Spiders 4 Ukraine contributed two camouflage nets, which are absolutely essential to protect the vehicles from the air when they are not moving.
