Elvira Dmitrieva, a trustee and the treasurer of Sunflower Scotland, together with Ret. Major General Mark MackCarley, delivered two jeeps to help Ukraine defenders at the eastern front. Ukrainian men who volunteered to protect their country, their wives and children, have to endure in the most inhumane conditions. It’s like WW 1 again. It is our duty to support them in their struggle. Jeeps are essential to bring supplies and evacuate the wounded.

In September, Sunflower Scotland received a request for help from a reserve regiment, which was protecting Ukraine in the eastern front (TRO). Because of the intensified attacks by the invaders, they lost two vehicles.
We purchased two jeeps in Scotland: one in Fife and the other in Edinburgh. Lochrin Autos, a highly professional garage in Edinburgh, thoroughly checked their technical condition. They did full servicing, and some necessary repairs, to make sure the vehicles would do their job. We also fitted new off-road tyres, so that the jeeps could be useful in the winter conditions.
Ret. Major General Mark MacCarley supported our mission. He donated money to purchase one jeep, and volunteered to drive it to Ukraine.
Elvira and Mark drove all the way from Edinburgh to the meeting point in Ukraine. They shook hands with the defenders who would be using the vehicles, and gave them the keys. At Sunflower Scotland, we provide aid exactly to those who need it, rather than to an intermediary or a bureaucrat.

Tetyana Sibbald, a trustee of Sunflower Scotland, loaded the jeeps with medical aid for the Kharkiv Regional Trauma Hospital (please read full report).
