23 November 2024 Sunflower Scotland delivered a full van load of medical items as humanitarian aid to the Shakhtarske town hospital. This is our third delivery here. We aim to help this hospital which is the first to receive the wounded and injured patients from Donbas, where a dreadful battle is taking place.
Our most cordial thanks to all donors for the medical donations, especially the NHS Lothian, Prehospital Care and Aid Worldwide and St Columba’s Hospice Edinburgh. All items which you donated have been delivered to those who need them most. They will help to provide critical care to the most severely injured and wounded patients from the war zone in Donbas.
Sunflower Scotland loaded the large Transit van, and Oleg (Sunflower’s chairman) drove it 2000 km from Edinburgh. He reached Shakhtarske on the 23rd November. Yurii Dibrova, the head of the local charity “Patriot”, and employees from the hospital unloaded the donations straight into the hospital.
Sunflower Scotland was able to verify that all medical aid was delivered exactly to the hospital, and was given as a humanitarian donation, free of charge. Here, everything will be used to help treat the patients arriving from the battle zone just 30 miles east.
