13 February 2025 – Sunflower Scotland distributed 200 high-quality warm jackets to disabled persons in the Sumy region and to Ukrainian veterans. These warm, light, high-quality jackets were donated by Hoggs of Fife, a prominent Scottish producer from Cupar. This wonderful business made such a valuable donation, and gifted winter jackets for Ukraine exactly when they were most needed.

Hoggs of Fife donated high-quality highland jackets: light and warm. They are actually quite expensive, and we decided we should donate them directly in people’s hands. We made sure they all get to those who need them for free.
In the Sumy region, we helped people with disabilities: wheelchair users with both mental and physical mobility issues.
We contacted a local association of disabled people, received a list of addresses, and Oleg personally went to every apartment and every house and gave jackets right into their hands.

The disabled people need to keep warm during the winter time, more than others. But such superb, warm and comfortable jackets would be too expensive for most. The monthly disability pension in Ukraine is about 3400 hryvnia or £57. After subtracting all costs of heating and electricity, there is literally not enough left for food. They would never be able to afford a Scottish winter jacket like this.

Everyone was so grateful and happy to receive this valuable gift from Hoggs of Fife. This Scottish company did such an amazing thing for these poor people!
We had quite a few jackets left and I gave them to soldiers at the front, in Kherson, Kramatorsk, Izium, Shevchenkove (Kharkiv region).
