Sunflower Scotland’s volunteers Grygoriy Demianov and Yuri delivered 1,039 kg of fresh vegetables to Kherson.
After Kherson was liberated, thanks to the kindness of people – both in Ukraine and around the world – Kherson’s residents received lots of food aid. Most of it was long shelf-life products: pasta, flour, tinned meat, etc. We learned that they didn’t get enough vitamins and healthy food.
Sunflower’s chairman Oleg Dmitriev travelled to Dnipro and met with two volunteers – Grygoryi and his friend Yuryi – who had been delivering aid to Kherson for months, had local contacts and knew the best routes. Grygoryi and Oleg agreed to bring to Kherson potatoes, cabbages, onions, and other Ukrainian staple food. We asked Grygoryi to find a local supplier, because we always try to support Ukraine’s producers.

Sunflower purchased the food, Grygoryi and Yuryi loaded their van and took a long and dangerous trip from Dnipro to Kherson.
We want to share our cordial thanks to the brave volunteers – Grygoryi and Yuryi – and to our Scottish and international donors!
