28th April 2025 – Sunflower Scotland delivers an offroad 4×4 ambulance to the frontline medics of the 253rd assault battalion Arei that is defending the Sumy region. The ambulance was donated by Prehospital Care and Aid Worldwide, and it is full of highly valuable medical supplies.
This project is a remarkable example of cooperation between two British charities, dedicated to saving lives in frontline Ukraine. It is well-known that many Ukrainian women and men are losing their lives after receiving battle wounds, because they cannot be evacuated for many hours. Often their friends have to drag them over many kilometres risking their own lives.
A 4×4 offroad ambulance can quickly move through the hard terrain and evacuate the wounded person to the nearest medical station. This ambulance – 4×4 Mitsubishi Shogun – donated by Prehospital Care and Aid Worldwide (PHCAW) will save many lives.

PHCAW is a specialist medical charity from Ipswich, England. They have a wealth of experience in training medical first aiders in the UK and overseas. Founded by actively practicing medical professionals, PHCAW is acutely aware of the challenges that frontline medics are facing in Ukraine and the needless loss of life due to slow evacuation.
PHCAW fundraised, purchased and fully equipped the 4×4 ambulance. They decided to cooperate with Sunflower Scotland, and asked us to deliver the vehicle directly to the frontline medics, without any intermediaries.
Sunflower Scotland arranged all customs paperwork for the Polish and Ukrainian customs clearance. After that, we delivered and donated the 4×4 ambulance to the medical company of the 253rd battalion “Arei”, which is defending the Sumy region.
At the time of writing, the Sumy region is one of the hottest stretches of the frontline. The Russian invaders are attacking the area with gliding bombs and kamikaze drones taking many civilian lives every day.
Defending this area is very hard, and Ukraine really needs all the help it can give them. We are doing our best to support the frontline medics who have to work in the hardest conditions in order to save lives under fire.
This cooperation between two charities, PHCAW and Sunflower Scotland, is an example of charities working together to protect lives in this dreadful war.
We will not line, we are taking personal risk while travelling to frontline areas in order to donate vehicles directly to those who need them. We are really grateful for your support.
