Mitsubishi L200 to the 36th Marines in Kramatorsk

28 March 2026 – Sunflower Scotland donated a Mitsubishi L200 pickup to the 36th Marines in Kramatorsk. We used this car to bring medical supplies, which we donated to the medics of the 60th brigade earlier on the same day.

In February 2026, we made a donation to the medics of the 36th Marine brigade in Kramatorsk. One of the marines, Yaroslav, asked if we could donate a pickup because the one they had was just hit by a Russian drone.

We responded.

Our friend Steven Clark helped us to source a good Mitsubishi L200 pickup. We serviced it and fixed everything that needed fixing. I addition we put on new Goodride off-road tyres, which we sourced from Tyres Direct.

Stevie Blythe – one of our best volunteers – drove it together with the rest of Sunflower Scotland’s team. Our convoy went to Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, and after that to Kharkiv.

Slovyansk – Medics of the 60th Brigade

On the 28th March, first of all we went to Slovyansk. There we donated a rowing machine, an exercise bike, and lots of medical supplies to the medics of the 60th Brigade.

The rowing machines were donated by our great supporter and volunteer Lindsay, from Aberdeenshire. (Lindsay is absolutely brand new – he would help us to buy a car for the Anti-drone team of the 79th Kherson Border Guards, and he himself would drive with us to Ukraine later in May).

After that, we carried on to Kramatorsk.

Meeting our friends from the 36th Marines

Here, we met with the same guys we met in February. But there were sad news. Yaroslav was badly wounded. a Russian drone exploded just beneath his feet.

All the lower part of his body and the hands were shattered with shrapnel. The guys told us he was evacuated to a hospital a few days ago.

We donated the Mitsubishi pickup. The boys were very happy to receive it.

Despite what happened with Yaroslav, we were still very glad to see each other. Inside the pickup, we had warm jackets and mens boots from Scotland. But most importantly, we had a box of Tunnocks Teacakes – the signature Scottish treat.
