16 August 2025 – Sunflower delivers wonderful colouring books by Scottish author Yoda Christou, to 42 children with special needs in Kryvyi Rih. In addition, we gave each family a bag of household items such as washing powder and shampoo. Over almost two years we became close friends with the children and their parents, and we both enjoyed our time together.
We sincerely thank Fingers Crossed, a Spanish company that has been providing regular funding. Thanks to their regular donations Sunflower has been able to regularly visit the disabled children and support them with humanitarian aid. We are truly grateful to each supporter from Scotland: organising our missions is hard and we are able to bring love and support the vulnerable children only with your help!
This time we would like to thank Yoda Christou for providing copies of her delightful book “Within the Wisdom of my Soul” for each child. Everyone was so delighted to receive a copy.
Parents mentioned that the illustrations were profound and crafted so beautifully. We all agreed that The Wisdom of My Soul was not only for children, but perhaps they even adults can enjoy colouring them as anti-stress therapy!
We thank Schira Sprava (Good Deed) – a local charity from Kryvyi Rih – for helping us on the ground. Valera and Hryhorii helped us to purchase the cleaning supplies at ATB (a Ukrainian chain of discount shops) and prepared bags for the families
In addition, we donated several boxes of pens and pencils, for the children to colour the books with. The children likes them but it turned our that the parents were really happy and thanked us – it turned out that pencils was a big expense.
