In June 2026, we donated the second armoured van to Kherson (the first was destroyed by a Russian anti-tank drone). This new van has been helping and evacuating people from areas near the river. These parts of Kherson are the most dangerous: the Russians are hunting everyone with drones. Ukrainian volunteers from Kherson sent us photos of people and families who they evacuated. These people are alive thanks to your help.

The local charity – Strong Because Free – has been using the van ever since to evacuate people. Each mission is a result of days of planning. Coordfinating with the local government, the police, the armed forces. Each drive to and from the kill zone is extremely dangerous.
Often, the people who need to be evacuated refuse at the last moment. Why? Because they are afraid. They prefer hiding in a basement to taking a ride that may be their last.
Each completed evacuation is a miracle. The Ukrainian evac team does a truly incredible job.
